We worked together to chunk down her lists into more manageable groups and worked to create strategies to deal with her anxiety. After six months, she found herself in a particularly busy time and created a big to-do list of all the tasks on her mind. To her surprise her to-do list anxiety was gone. At that moment she experienced true freedom. She had turned a task that used to cause her great anxiety and stress into an action of relief without even realizing it.

Working with Brett Dupree really helped me to look at my life's goals to evaluate why they were important to me and make a plan to beginning to achieve them. The one thing that was most apparent was my lack of joy at the job that I do and how it gave me nothing to feed my soul and feel good about. I knew that I needed to eventually get my master's degree in mental health counseling to reach my original goal when I went back to school and this would also lead to the kind of work that would be more rewarding and enjoyable to me. So now I am working at just this and with Brett's insights it helped me see that now was the time to start moving towards this and stop procrastinating. Working on not procrastinating was a big thing for me. By gaining more clarity and focus for my goals I was able to look at these clearly and take the appropriate steps to start working on them. We looked at small goals to start with each week to expand on until I was closer to where I wanted to be. This really helped with my finances. I was doing fairly well at cleaning things up but with Brett's guidance I was able to look at my spending and put myself on a budget to save more money. By doing this I was able to pay off my old debt that plagued me forever. This brought up my credit score and now I am able to get financing for a small house or condo of my own. So now I am in the process of finding my first place so I can reach another one of my goals. I am working on getting healthy and have realized through Brett's guidance that I cannot beat myself up for times I don't follow perfectly the eating and exercising plan but to just keep doing more and more each week to get closer to my goal. It is taking longer than I would like but I am 20 pounds lighter and walking more each week which is really good for me since I work two jobs and have online classes to do homework in the evenings and weekends. I am able to look at ways to use my time more effectively so now instead of taking the closest bus to the train I walk to the further one everyday and sometimes walk the whole way so I am not adding more time to get exercise but using the time I would be catching the bus and getting exercise. I feel good about the focus that Brett gave me during our life coaching sessions and have been able to use the tools we started with to keep working towards my goals.
